Observation at Site Improves Safety (OASIS)

As part of its Behavior Based Safety initiative, ORYX GTL has implemented OASIS, a process that has increased employees’ and contractors’ safety awareness and has reduced considerably risk behaviors on our site. Observation is at the core of this new initiative.

A steering committee representing all employees and permanent contractors is in charge of implementing the program. Trained observers are sent to the site in order to register all risk behaviors providing instant feedback to the employee that will allow him to prevent similar risk behaviors in the future.

Each case is analyzed by a barrier removal team using advance problem solving techniques.

OASIS’s main objective is to reduce all risk behaviors that could lead to accidents which could result in fatalities, and to encourage safe behaviours.
